Running speaker wire...

After much debate I am going to attempt to install a system myself. It will be my first install. I will be running a 2 amps(mono, 4 channel). I have everything mapped out except running the speaker wire from the amp to my mids and highs. Do I run the wire directly from the amp to the speaker and and omit any speaker wire out of the hu? How do I get the speaker wire in the doors? The vehicle is a Ford pick up truck.

run the wire strait to ur 4 channel! then run ur wire like the factory ones but insted of going to hu go to amp!
were you that lazy to type straight? or are you really grammar impaired //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

ok, im confused... in my home theater system I run rca's from my preamp to my amps, then the speaker wire goes directly from the amp to the speaker. I guess im not getting where the hu comes into play.

RCA's from head unit to amps. Speaker wire from amps to speakers. There are rubber grommets in the doors where the factory wiring is fed through. Use the grommets to feed your speaker wires into the doors. If you do NOT have RCA pre-outs on your head unit, you can use a line-out converter like this one:

To use a line-out converter, you run the speaker wire from your head unit to the LOC, then run the RCA's out the other end of the LOC to your amps.

you can do it one of two ways.

you can send the wires from your 4 channel to the factory speaker wiring.

or you can fish/drill them through the molex plugs in your door.

I just would wire your amp to your factory speaker wires, then use the factory wiring in your doors to connect the power to the xover. Easiest way to do it.
