running rca and power cable for amp

Is it ok to run your rca cables and power wire for your amp next to each other?
You typically want your power & remote wires on one side of the car with your RCA's on the other. Cuts down on the chance of noise filtering into your RCA's to be amplified to your speakers.

It's an old wives tale that they need to be separated.

In 8+ years of doing this, I've always had my RCA's literally zip-tied to the power wire for the entire length of my car and never once had a problem.

Well I got one person saying one thing and 2 saying the other. My rem wire is part of my rca cables. So...
in this case, post count is proportional to knowledge.

Seperate them, don't seperate them -- whatever's easiest.

There are plenty of sources for noise in a car - the power cable's not one of them.

i just separate them for piece of mind. On the off chance that I am pulling to much current through my choice of power wire, it wont melt the RCA jackets and possibly fry my deck. IDK i always look at the worse case scenario //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

On the noise factor, its impossible for any noise to cross through RCAs and power wire, you are talking about DC vs. AC current...

cant find helotaxi's quote but how is it possible to separate power current when ground is your chassis.

i also zip tie my rca, remote, speaker wires together and never had noise problem if install is done correctly.
