Running power wire for amp under car OK?

I have a 95 240sx and for the life of me I cant find a hole in the firewall to put the power cable through, i Know its there! however.. there is a hole in the spare wheelwell with a grommet so techinically I could run it under the car w/ wiring loom and zipties right? I read on a 240 forum and some people had done this. I think as long as its done right it should be fine, I mean there is wiring for the ******/diff etc,. under there done the same way right?

If its the same body style as the one i has and i think it is... i know there is a hole there somewhere, i think i cut a new hole in a grommet in the firewall

you can drill a new hole in the fire wall. iv been in thoes cars. its not to hard.

I've done it in two cars. As long as everything is snug and not in the way of moving parts, there should be no problems

I've run gnds underneath...but the pos wire I wouldn't recommend ....

yes.

you have to drill it through the car anyway to get it bakck into the trunk.

unless your amp is mounted outside.

As long as you keep the wire out of harms way and secured well, theres no problem running it underneath.

It's almost always easier and faster to drill the firewall than run wiring under the vehicle. Seems like lots of people have a fear of drilling, but once you've done a few you'll get over it. Just find something on one side of the firewall that you can locate on the other side, like a cable that runs through. Once you're sure you're looking at the same bit of metal on both sides, then use a self-tapping screw to make a pilot hole. That way you don't have to worry about drilling through anything important if you're in the wrong spot. After you have your pilot hole and you're sure it's clear, use a step bit (unibit) to enlarge it to the right size.
