running ports through the rear dash

I'm looking into making a ported box for my 12" CVRs. I added some extra 6.5" speakers in the back so I'm thinking about removing my 6x9's and running the ports through there,

My back seats fold down and I'm planning on having the subs facing forward and fiberglassing up the front for a good look.

I'm going to research the tuning and whatnot as well, but before I start researching it, I'd like to know if it would actually sound good/loud.

So please tell me why I'm an idiot for thinking of this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif

My buddy has two 12's in a large box and the port is in the center of the rear deck between the 6.5 comps. it sounds awesome. He has all SONY equipment. xplod amps and subs. Sounds good for what it is.

one of my buddys did 2 15" type r's in a neon and put 2 4" ports in his rear deck, and it sounded a sh*t ton better...that might have been because of the lack of space but in that case it worked well.

could it have been the box/port design itself and not running the ports through the rear deck like that?

I covered the ports and it got as loud as 2 12's in a large sealed box should. Left them covered after that. That was a long time ago
