Running a monoblock in stereo?

the 2 pos and 2 negs usually makes it easier to wire a set of subs or a single sub

Say you got an amp that does 1000 RMS @ 1 ohm

And you got a dual 1 ohm 1000 watt driver

You run each voice coil to the amp to the inputs

so all 4 are used up

and TADA! 1 ohm load!

That would be a .5 ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Then why did the previous owner bridge it externally when he wired it to the amp? Just wiring convenience?

Further proof that people need to RESEARCH //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif before they buy something...

The answer to that question is he probably needed it to be in series, rather than parallel.

I'm going to investigate
You said a dual1ohm subwoofer, paralelled, would be a .5ohm load...
