Running a monoblock in stereo?

So, every "monoblock" i have owned has actually been a two channel...

I currently have the Fusion 4000D, which is basically two amps strapped(it has dual ground and power as well). My subs are D2, so i can either do 2 or .5 ohm...

So why can't I run each channel as stereo and run them each at 1 ohm? Because I would rather run ~2000 watts to each, but I don't have the electrical to run it at .5 right now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

it would not be a mono block if it could be run in stereo.

A monoblock is a monoblock no matter how many ground and power inputs it has.

It isn't mono if it has two channel. Actually, you can just connect and it will bridge (im tired, this may not be the right word) the speakers internally.

most amps like those, 2 strapped in a case are only stable at 2ohms, just like if you would have 2 seperate amps and strap them

the term stereo refers to left and right seperation.

the output on that amp is internally summed making it a monoblock amp, it only has one channel.

To make it easier to wire the speakers (comes in really hand when you have speakers not sharing the same chamber)

Because most people run more than one sub on a monoblock sub amp, they generally have 2 sets of terminals to accomodate.

So if i wired the subs individually to 1 ohm, then wired the two to the amp, it just bridges it inside anyway down to .5ohms?

Yep, except there is no bridging it is already 1 channel.
