Running a 2k at .5 ohms on stock alternator possible?

i see a input hot/neutral and the outputs are obviously the larger gauge wire is you low voltage side. i see a black(ground) blue and brown.. **** test the coils windings..what power supply was that it had to have a bridge rectifier to turn it into DC.. you should get you a lil side project going.. lol you could bump you voltage up to 120v run some much smaller wire then know it back down to 12..
Small black wire is ac hot and the small white one is ac ground. Big black wires go to a fuse block, then to the big red wires with the bolt for 12v+.

I'll use a multimeter to see which wires have continuity, and are therefore the same ones. Then I'll plug it in and see what the output voltage ratios are for the different windings.

neutral isn't a ground //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifyou should have a hot and nuteral and a 12+ and 12 ground lead.. anything else is most likely a different tap check it out and see

Technically, it is. It goes to the ground to complete the circuit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

neutral/ground means the same to me with AC

In ac you can use the neutral as a ground.

Yeah

You won't see a true amperage supply from the batts until you draw them down into the low 12s... Float charge really doesn't offer you a good power supply, just stabilizes voltage. At least that's my understanding of high discharge AGMs.

Think i might just play it safe and gets subs for 1 ohm..that way i can use my stock alt a hair longer.

in ac the neutral is a bonding conductor the ground is a bonded conductor. basically the neutral takes any unbalanced load to ground but it is NOT a ground. if it where it would simulate a direct short.
In most homes the neutral and grounds share the same buss bar, take an outlet loose and replace the neutral with the ground, it is not ideal but the outlet will work.

thats supposed to be BONDED at the main disconnect... if you did this you would have groud faults Everywhere! hehe

What if I got a 160 amp alternator, which im most likely getting, then do you think i can do .5 with 2 batteries?
