Set your gains correctly and the only negative effect is you won’t see the full potential of your sub.

yes just if don't try to get 2k out of the amp, peeps fry subs by over driving/clipping the amp thats y most peeps here over power the sub and keep gain low.... however since u didn't mention the equipment i'd bet u don't have to worry about the sub being a 2k or the amp being a 1k..
