Running 2k watt sub on 1k watt amp?

Is it possible or will it burn out the speaker/amp?
yes just if don't try to get 2k out of the amp, peeps fry subs by over driving/clipping the amp thats y most peeps here over power the sub and keep gain low.... however since u didn't mention the equipment i'd bet u don't have to worry about the sub being a 2k or the amp being a 1k..

Thanks for the feedback. It was a long shot but there will definitely be much more powerful subs in the trunk, so clearing it out isn't an option...
