Just hooked up my RSD's to my txi4008 and when I try to measure the voltage with my DMM it doesn't really go any higher than 4 volts and if it goes above that it just distorts like mad, but yet the speaker is moving pretty good. Maybe it's due my crafstman DMM not being able to take accurate readings of higher frequencies? (works good for my sub). I also notice that my pioneer 3 ways have a better upper mid range and the mid bass was about the same even on deck power.. The rsd's kinda sound like im under water. Also when I hooked up my amp to my Pioneers they sounded fine. So idk im lost and getting frustrated.

Amp is rated 100w at 4 ohm x2

P.s. I also dicked around with all the full range, HPF, LPF settings on the deck and amp with no avail.

I'd bet that the high freq. is messing with the DMM first of all.... second of all, are you sure you don't have them out of phase??
Now that I think about it, I might of reversed the polarity but I doubt it and if it was reversed would it really matter? I mean I only had 1 speaker on.

My RSD's are loud and they're seeing the same power as yours, only difference is mine are active on a 100.4. Check output on the other side of your crossover if your on passive, your crossover could be ******* up some of your power if its getting hot... but thts unlikely, are they mounted securely, check your install again I'd suggest.

Mounted to 1/2 thick MDF in my door, but I only have stock deadner on. And yeah I'm using the crossovers, don't get hot but I didn't have it on for more than 1 min.

My RSDs were loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Loudness... in this case might be relative..

as Mine are NOT loud either.

In my opinion... these RSD's are so so... might be time to get some "real" stuff soon...

There's gotta be something wrong, my pioneers sound louder and better off of HU power compared to my RSD's amped... Maybe this is how they are?
