Power difference to ear question

How much different is say 2000w to 3000w to the ear? In the same enclosure and car setup. 1000w to 2000w etc.?
1000 to 2000 will have a greater increase since its 200% more. 2000 to 3000 will not be as significant since its 150%. Now 2000 to 4000 would be like the 1000 to 2000. Stupid sound law states dbs as exponential therefore its harder to get louder the higher up u are.

haha im going from about 1300 on an 18 to 4k on 2 15s and its been over 4 months since i had a system i sat in on the car for 2 12 inch lightning audio 12s i built a box for and kinda hurt my ears ive been resensitized lol.

^^ thats going to wake your *** up haha.

Im going from an amp that had a fried mosfet that still worked (rated at 2400w, dunno what it was doing broken), to something like an ap3000d.

lol stupid sound law?
lol

Yes if sound levels were arethmetic instead of Exponential, Best Buy would of been selling 170db sound systems by now.

lol Yea I noticed a fairly big difference when I went from 2 12s on 1000watts to 2 12s in 2000.

1000 to 2000 is a 200% increase?

its harder to gain dbzz the higher up you go
^^^ My point exactly

Hmm running both at one ohm? Goin from 2400 to 3000? With all other variables stayin the same (same enclusure, same car, subs ect). Thats only a 25% gain itll put up better dbs but i dont think itll be too much of a difference to the ear

1000 to 2000 is a 200% increase?
Yes, 200% increase in wattage not dbs. Its impossible to tell exactly how much u will increase in decibels until you measure it with a TL or the like. What im getting at is a 200% increase in power is enough to be audiably noticeable

lol doubt I will have it by then. Wheres it at? If I go to comps it will be in the north texas area. and my box is at 32hz and I dont have a port plug for the TL so i prob. wont impress the TL

Logarithmic.
Whatever it is each decibel is something like 100x louder than the one before it.

If dbs were measured by the next db is like only 10% louder than the one before it not 100x louder
