its all imaginary
sounds pointless and harmful to sq....but if you are bored and have the money to waste and just don't give a shit, then try it
That's the entire point. He's not going to. He has $200 for two pairs of components...Man do it. I can almost guarentee you no one on this forum has ever heard a set-up like that. They are just sticking to the basic guidelines. I say be different and give it a try. In-fact I'd like to see you use a quality processor and EQ/TA it all and see if you can make it sound good with good imaging. I bet it could be pulled off =D.
O this is the same guy? Guess I should pay attention haha. Have you heard it with time put into the set-up? (aiming the speakers, TA, EQing, ect.?) I think with the speakers in some crazy off-axis design might be able to pull it off. Of course the pods would be probally block your sight. That's the entire point. He's not going to. Also, yes... I've seen it done before... and heard it.

so have i. its actually big around here. sounds awful, but the average stereo kid around here merely wants loud (i.e. buying 4 extra tweets for a comp set) and it does give them that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifThat's the entire point. Nope... just h00d ninja's wanting what this kid is vaguely talking about...O this is the same guy? Guess I should pay attention haha. Have you heard it with time put into the set-up? Exactly... I used to work at a shop in the h00d... lol.so have i. its actually big around here. sounds awful, but the average stereo kid around here merely wants loud (i.e. buying 4 extra tweets for a comp set) and it does give them that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Precisely. But...I bet the kid wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. An active setup with full time alignment and volume control on each driver would be a must, but even with that you're going to lose stereo separation. The left channel will be in front of you and the right off to the right. The result would be similar to having a crappy seat at the concert way off to one side.
The truth is you have no clue what you are talking about. The basics of acoustics tell us mounting your tweeters in the bottom of garbage cans would sound like shit too. But nobody has actually tried it, so hell why not! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifTRUTH IS 90% OF PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HEARD SPEAKERS UP THERE SO THEY HAVE NO fCUKIN CLUE. (sry for caps) they are just going by what they see/hear on the interwebz. Just run some wires from your amp to the speakers that you are wanting to put up there and atttch them temporaly. See whow they sound, you nor anyone else can tell you how they sound untill you have done it. You might not give a shit about imiging, some do.
Sry for all the ****ed up spelling.
If you want to look like a retard and have one of the worst sound stages ever, go for it. Honestly, this is like some Pimp My Ride nightmare shit.
Just get some better comps, deaden your doors well, and call it a day
