rockford t1000-1bd

for which amp? id run 0ga (personal preferrence) my personal stuff i run 100amp every 1000w... id throw a 200amp fuse in there for both amps or a 150 for the bd as its hella underrated... and a 100amp or 80 amp on the 4ch...

Fuse ratings are meant for the wire. That way if you have too much current going through the wire to where it can't handle it, the fuse will pop and break connection saving you from a fire. So, if you used 0ga CCA most likely will be rated for 250a. If you use 0ga OFC chances are 300a. So find out what wire You are using and use a proper fuse for that wire.

That's not true at all. The fuse can protect a wire yes, but its main purpose is to protect the amp. That's why some amps come with fuses built in and others (like Rockford) don't and you have to provide and external fuse based on the amp. I just sold a Rockford P400x4 and had to put in a 60 amp fuse before it. Its to prevent a spike in current or anything else that could destroy the amp.

If your amp call for a 60 amp fuse and your wire is 0 gauge OFC, you don't put whatever the wire can handle.

OP for the t1000 I would go for about a 150 amp fuse like stated above because that amp is very under rated.

For the t600 I would go for anywhere between 75-100 amp fuse. Its under rated also. You can go to the Rockford website and it'll give what fuse to use.

I would also run 0 gauge on them. 4 gauge won't be able to handle that kind of current

Actually what he said above is half true I guess. I would do two fuses. One next to the battery that is rated for the wore and one right before the amp rated for the amp. But at a minimum you have to have the amps fuse to protect it. Your a lot less likely to.damage the wire than the amp

Of course a forum full of people who will suggest over-fusing amps swear by elaborate methods of gain settings so as not to blow things up.

Technically you should fuse at a point where you blow fuses when you push things too hard.... assuming you want the fuse to protect the amp anyway. If you just want to ensure against fire in case of catastrophic short, just fuse based on ampacity of the wire.

Fusing is NOT there to protect the amplifier it will not stop spikes in current for short periods of time unless you are severely under fused

Go to any MECA show or do serious research on fusing and it won't take long to figure out how guys are running 3k amplifiers through a single 60 amp fuse for a short period of time

I can pull 3 or 4 sec. burps @ over 450 amps of current through 4 or 5 different brands of a single 150 amp ANL fuse without even really trying, some of them multiple times

You have no clue what ur talking about. A fuse in a wire in there for one purpose, to protect the wire from over current.

you say not true at all,you are wrong, dont fuse an amp,you lose an amp.dont fuse a wire and you lose ur car when it shorts and starts a fire!so which costs more ur amp or ur car
