what do u guys think of 3 15" rf hx2's an 3 jbl 600.1 amps this is for my friend an he wants all out spl....if yall dont liek this setup what would be abetter setup for under a grand he wants 2 or 3 15's or 4 12's..and he dont want ek's lol -thanx-

that would be a **** good set up for spl. I would say go two or three 15" in a nice ported enclosure tunned to high 30's

There is some sort of formula to find it out, but I don't know it offhand...but what you can do is take a sealed box, throw some subs in his car, and play a sine sweep, whichever freq. gets the loudest is the res. freq. of the car, then tune the box like 3 hz down from that.

he dont wan tno honda!! lol hes no tognna be competing he just wants a hellla lot bass! an his inplala is already fixed up so its to late to keep it as an "classic" lol ...an he spaying close to 150 a pop...an hes gettting his alternator rowound to some were around 170 an hes gettings another battery an maybe a cap im tryin to talk him ou tof that though im tellin him to get another alternator installled

Here is how you figure out your cars frequency: 1130 divided by the distance from trunk backwall to windshield, then divide that number by four.

So say it is 7.5 feet from your windshield to back trunk wall, it would look like this: 1130/7.5/4=37.6666666, so your cars freq. is 38hz, so you want to build your box 2-11hz below the cars freq., that way the box PEAKS at the cars freq.
