Hello peeps, does anyone have experience with these amps that can help me out? I set my gains with a dd-1 but the meter still goes red on songs with hard bass at higher volumes. Is this ok or am I clipping since the meter is blue then turns red when a deep bass note hits?

The problem is my Sundown SA 12's barely even move any air even when clipping at high volumes. I replaced the RCA cables and it did not have a noticeable difference. Now I am thinking my headunit is at fault

Rethink the box. Those subs are only going to do so much. You would be better off with larger woofers. Also those amps are very very power hungry. You might be running out of juice.

Box is 4.5 cu ft with 6" aero port at 30hz. My voltage does not drop lower than 13.7 because my subs are wired at 4ohms (1500 watts). I would think an underrated 1500 watts would be enough for 2 SA's

I thought that would be big for 2 SA 12's. Sundown recommends 2.0-2.25 cu ft. for one SA 12 ported. The port is on the small side because I wanted it to still be pretty musical. The port is in the middle of the box with at least 7 inches away from the back wall. Subs and port are on the same plane forward firing in trunk. I can barely get my rearview mirror to move with this setup. I don't think the box is the problem

1500w and 2 12" SA's your rearview should barebly be holding on my boy had 2 12's on 2k in his van and his wipers were flapping. I'm guessing it's box related or you're not getting the power you think you are or wired the subs wrong.

Mirror falling off is car dependent. Cars with large weak roofs are more likely to have the mirror twist or fall off. My mirror only twist when the car is VERY hot inside.
