Rockford 1001bd keeps clipping subs

ok so the best thing i should do is keep the gain on full also keep the gain of the remote bass on full and just mess with the gain on the HU, because i do have a 0-15 subwoofer gain on my HU, i should just adjust my bass with that?!
No like stated before. Raise your volume on the HU to your max listening level. Then slowly raise the gain. Do not use boost. Do you not understand all this. If you can't understand what I'm saying I can't help you. Go to a shop have them set it up.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Set your headunit volume to where you NORMALLY listen to it. Then set up the subwoofer control on your headunit to something like 10-11 out of 15. Then go and turn the GAIN on the AMP up until the subs starts distorting, then back it off ~1/4 turn. Don't use bass boost.

lol i i dont even have bass boost i jus have this subwoofer volume on my HU 0-15, what if i keep that on 15 and jus tune my sub wit it on thaT?

+15 on Alpine headunits (I've got the same model you do) is really like 0dB on every other "normal" unit out there...so what I do, is tune for "maximum smoke" with the sub level on 15 - that is, get the amplifier gains set properly and get it as loud as I'll possibly play it. That way, I can always attenuate the level by going back from 15. Most of the time, I leave it around 12-14.

alright man thanks, do you think just messing around with the remote gain is bad to do.. because i was thinking that i would just mess with that, such as if my volume is low and i want more bass, i will just crank it up a bit, then when my voume is higher i will lower the remote gain..wha you think about that?
