Can a 150WRMS output from the AMP is enough to boost a 175WRMS Sub?..

Will it sound good?...

what would you recommend if that is the scenario to improved performance of the sub or the amp considering that's gonna be the setup?..

thanks

1. and 2. yes, you can have 100rms on a 1000rms sub and itll play and sound good (provided that you dont send a clipped signal). but it wont get loud at all.

3. ported box.

btw, which amp and sub are you talking about? -- that'll be your best bet to get the answer you want.

i have the polk audio gnx124,12", 175-400 watts RMS, SVC, 4 ohms

and im thinking of getting the PG Octane R5.0.4 to power this, its a 200WRMS in 4 channel

so 2 channel bridge will put out 150 watts of RMS in 4 ohms

im just a newbie... and just building up a new entry-level system

thanks for the reply by the way...
