RMS of components=130, RMS from amp=150, too much power?

I may be wrong but I think that if the volume control on the HU and the gain on the amp are set low to keep distortion as low as possible it will cut down on the amps power so you shouldn't even be getting that whole 150 watts.

Its a lot better to have more power available so the power is pure and clean vs. having an amp that isn't capable of providing the desired wattage and in turn being "GAINED UP" to meet the subs wattage. However...underpowering (assuming the gains are set properly) is fine as well, which is why subs will say "60-130 watts RMS" so you can provide anything in that range and stay safe.
