Rlp box ?

i mean this might be a dumb questoin but will an RLP get louder than 2 12 type Rs?i mean i hear that but like i said i dont know from experience... specs on an rlp say yes kinda.... but i wanna make sure ill be happy with em before i drop almost 500 bucks in subs...

i'm leaning towards no. the RLp is more geared towards SQ, but can get decently loud given the right enclosure and power. when my sub was still in my old car, it metered 137 dB on the termlab (sealed box, mic in the kick) with only 300 watts going to it. everyone's definition of "loud" is different. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SS recommends anywhere from 1.5 to 2.0 ft^3 tuned to 28~34hz for the 12" in a ported alignment...generally tuning lower w/ larger displacement. the kind of space you're working with should determine what you want to do. mike seems to like 1.5 ft^3 ~ 34hz though... that's what he told me to do before i even told him i had a trunk and wanted to keep the box on the small side...

bassheads on the forum seem to love goin bigger w/ lower tuning which i may do soon since i love the rl-p's sealed
