RL-p15 or 12

I think that the RL-P will be a new forum boner... not that soundsplinter doesn't deserve it of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that does not denote RE of course...

i wouldnt say that re is gonna have a downfall at all it still has its nitch just like sound splinter adire and some of the other companies. its always best to determin application space and power BEFORE picking a sub. i have worked retail for years and its pathetic 7 out of 10 times someone buys the uber woofer when they dont need it (meaning it running lower that its potential). they just throw away a couple hundred more on the super sub and dont have the right space/box/power.

thats what i'm trying to figure out...if i can build the box bigger and have it louder than the 2 rl-p's then there is no reason to throw away another couple hundred...

Bingo, thats why I picked one up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. From mrray's (and a cpl other) reviews I have read, they are good, and get low and linear in small sealed enclosures (I have a .75 ft^3) and in that enclosure should be able to handle 1200-1400W like a champ.

Guess I will find out though, can't learn everything from what you read, now for the experimentation.

hey i just seen this....

even with the bigger box on the 15 the impedance is gonna

kill me. it wouln't even be seeing half the power...right

and with the 1-12's being the lowest it will see more

power than the single 15 is getting now...right???

Yea i too have been looking into the 15" RL-ps, and some LMTs.

I can't really understand those graphs, but are you saying the 15"s won't hit as low as the 12"s???

I was hoping it would hit lower then the 12, which was going to be one of my main reason for buying.

Also it's like 2 for $500, which seems cheap for what i'm hearing.

Seems like it is, based on the TC2 motor. Haven't seen too many reviews on it though.
The TC2+ motor, actually, which is held by some as a reference home theater driver. Link

Some of the folks on ECA seem to think highly of it, and I believe that cheapboy did a small comparison which included the TC2+ (I could be mistaken, though). Those are the only reviews that I'm aware of.

the 15's wouldn't hit as low...in the size box that i have available for it.

so IN MY APPLICATION i could get the 12's lower.

but maybe in YOUR APPLICATION you can build a bigger box w/ more port.

I don't understand how you are modeling that 12. Everytime I try to model the 12" RL-p's using the specs on SS's site, the results are not correct (not even close). Even Mike will tell ya it doesn't model well. Are you having BBP6 calculate a lot of the specs? Or are you going straight off of the website?

I was just about to say this. Do NOT rely on any of those graphs. Should be used as a starting point only. Plug the Magnum specs in there, it's even uglier.
