RL-p15 or 12

i've been thinking about getting 2 RL-p 15's, i got1500w, and a box that is about 5.5ft, 90in^2 port @34. do you think it would be wiser to get two 12's instead cause i would be able to make the box a little bigger, tune a little lower, and have some more port. IN MY APPLICATION...which do you think would be the wiser of the 2 choices?

even if you dont have 15"s of trunk space... get the 15

i'd personally go with the 2 12's, bigger box, tune lower, more commanding lows with bigger box, better SQ with lower tune etc..

Well, currently the 15's are out of stock! Just make whatever decision you feel is best, I feel that the 2 12's in that ported enclosure would do well! peace

Anyways, I would probably go with the 12's with that amount of box space. It's boarderline....but I'd rather have a box that's a lil' too big, and fill it in some with wood if needed than be stuck with a box that's too small (if you went with the 15's)

i'm seriously thinking 12's i'm gonna figure out the box size and everything later. i made cardboard templates of the side of both boxes(12 & 15) to see how to fit it, angling up from the glass. on a side note...how far away from the glass should i stay? i'm like 3/4" away...i know the glass flexs out but does it go in that far? and last the 2-12's will have more cone area, and more xmax...so it should be louder than 1-15...right?

ok...i'm done caculating. and it goes box for RL-p 15's'----7ft^3 after displacement @34Hz w/ 88.75in^2 port and RL-p 12's------6.6ft^3 after " @34Hz w/ 120in^2 port. the 15 box is right in the recomended, with min port area, and the 12 box is above rec volume, and huge port. bbp6 showed the 12 being lower but the 15 won over 50Hz...but who cares that high???

Go for the the 12s with the hella port! Seriously, that's a big ****ing port! I like it! It's also got a smoother response, not peaky like the others.

12's it is, ya i really liked the way the graph looked...who knows in a car but the box is nice too. the yellow graph in the back (design 3) is the hybrid...i modeled it as an SX since i don't have actual specs.

hey check out this.....

orange 2-RL-p 12's 6.6ft box

yellow 1 hybrid 15 3.5ft box(current)

green 1 hybrid 15 6ft box (for shits and giggles)

it shows the single 15 would do better lower than the 2 12's.

but it is kinda peaky...what do you think?
