RL-P vs. XXX My review

What i ment to say is that he based his opinions from when he gave the XXX 750 and the rlp 750, 750wrms is the rlps sweet spot and XXX's sweet spot is 1800+ so why compare both subs in the first place, the output is obvious. Anyways, he also said that the XXX neither the rlp took 2000w so obviously he didnt base his opinions from that, so dont say he also gave the xxx more power to analyze his results when he said it didnt take it, and theirs plenty of ppl with an orion 2500d wich will do around 2651w at 14.6v

reading so many people having problems putting the RLP's and RLI's into large enclosures makes me think maybe they are made for smaller boxes with that much power?
I think one of the biggest things is the type of music you listen to also. How does the XXX handle Drum beats compaired to the XXX or were you listening to long and low Bass beats like most rap? Does the XXX kick as acurately as the RLP when listenign to rock?

It does apprear to me from reading this forum for some time now that the RLP is harder to please enclosure wise than the RE subs. it is also aparent that the XXX is one bad *** mofo sub if you want SPL and for it to still sound good.

I have to wonder where the Brahma or Tumult drivers would fit in.

As for me I'm so limite don mounting depth I can't consider either sub, so I will be getting 2 10 Kodas or such and thats probably the best SQL I can get that will fit in a small enclosure with limited mounting depth. Not everyone can fit something like a XXX...
The XXX handles rock as good as it does rap. With rock, it has nice quick bass hits, and with rap, it has the crazy low rolling bass that many songs have. Absoluttely perfect! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And as far as the enclosure issue, mine is in a 1 cube sealed box right now, and like i said before, its pure insanity in my particular car. The RL-P was basically on the same output level as my Infinity Perfect, the XXX sounds like 3 Perfects. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I also listened to the XXX for a good bit today, and the SQ and accuracy is as good if not better than the RL-P.

**** ive been seing this WHOLE thing go on for a couple of months, ive seen the stupid "rlp ia better than xxx on wait a second i gave it 600 watts" 20 page war and ive seen the posts saying RE is hype etc, i got one question
HOW THE **** ARE YOU GONA COMPARE THE RLP AND THE XXX?????

serious you **** SS fan boys need to go to hell, im sure hte rlp is a great driver, but for a bunch of idiots to be basing the xxx and talking shit about RE and saying the rlp is better? go kill yo self!!!!!

and this is to the idiots NOOBS who dont know shit and say the rlp is on the same level .

I mean come on are you guys blind? look at the two???

so i guess if the RLP is the same as the xxx the RLP is the same as the brahma kmII? i would love Dan Wiggins to hear this one.
I agree, its those stupid people that caused me to get the RL-P over a brahma or XXX in the first place. I figured, "hey, they say its equal in every way, and cheaper, so why would i buy an XXX?"

He did though, use much higher power ratings catering towards the XXX more (something like 1500 i believe?). And he did use larger enclosures and also tested both subs on a ported and sealed box.

The only thing that erks me about this thread is ls1pimp stating mmray's review was "misleading" while his is suddenly valid across all boards. When mmray clearly put ALOT more into his review/comparison than ls1pimp ever did.

The XXX is a great sub, my friend uses his 15er on the back of his jeep grand cherokee and it pounds my chest so it's hard to breathe. But this is still a crappier comparison than the previous one.

Oh, and I also like how he starts the thread with "the rl-p may have a TAD bit better SQ"

Then in further pages he says "they have pretty much equal SQ's".

Now after selling his rl-p away and just listening to the xxx he comes to the brilliant conclusiong of "the XXX's sq is equal but may even be better than the rl-p".

Usually, your opinion is a whole lot more credible if you aren't doing the digital version of screaming at the top of your lungs wiith a limited vocabulary.

If you've been following this for several months, I assume you've read the original poster's thread over on SSA?

I don't think the issue ever was whether or not the RL-p & XXX are comparable drivers in every scenario. The specs don't bear that out. However, what I (and a lot of other people) object to is the circumstances that the review was done, the time frame, and frankly, the user's credibility.

I'm amazed that this thead turned into the sewer hole it has...but then again, I'm not surprised.

I'm done with this.

Why do people really get worked up over this??
The guy likes the XXX better IN HIS APPLICATION WHICH THE REVIEW IS BASED ON. Good for him.

Kent liked the RL-P IN HIS APPLICATION. Good for him.

Some people think the XXX compares to the RL-P. Good for them. How can you tell them they don't? It's their opinion. It's how they feel. You cannot tell them they are wrong.

Some people like Sony. Good for them.

Shit, let them enjoy their stuff, whether it be PYLE, RE, ADIRE, JL, whatever.

Becuase they don't compare at all, they are completely different subs. Its kind of like comparing an Infinity Perfect to a JL Audio W7, it just makes no sense whatsoever.

Dawg, look at your name it says SSFanBoy. RLP is an awsome sub for the price and mikes support is deff worth another $200.

Your opinion.

I can't tell you they do, but in turn, you cannot tell someone who feels they do that they are incorrect.

You guys do realize the only reason people are getting mad, Is because all the guy had to do was build a ported box. Instead he bought a new sub:waycrazy:

That's it. He is not an experienced installer so his opinion is only what 5% valuable...

Do you own an RL-P? You are completely missing what i am saying. The RL-P is a 500 watt sub, and i was incorecctly giving it 1200 watts, which was a mistake. Unless the output would have quadrupled with the ported box, i would not have been happy.

How the heck do you know what you were sending it. You did not even set your gains properly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

If you guys read through this thread and two others on two other forums you will see that it was recommended to get a different box. Heck he could have had one probably for ~$60~ from someone selling one they no longer used. But he ignored the recommedations. The Rl-p will handle 1000+ watts, I do have thaton one now ported. I do not think peope are upset over Rl-p Vs XXX because they are two tatally diffrerent drivers. Like I said before it is the thread starter they are tired of with probably 600 threads going on about his original statement across three message boards. He likes the XXX better than the Rl-p and that is cool. He has a lot to learn at his young age. An opinion is just that. You can not blame someone for something you decide to buy based on there opinion.
