I need to replace my subwoofer that I just sold. I am looking for a SQ subwoofer and wanted to know how this one stands in the rankings of sq subs. Should I buy a IDQ instead? I was really wanting a 12" but for some reason having trouble picking a 12" besides the IDQ that fits in a small enclosure and is in my power range. I have a reg cab truck so I need a small sealed enclosure and I am not wanting a sub that need anymore than 500RMS.

HotCarl has a vid on ROE of his 8" Rl-i. It looks loud.

The RL-i will DESTROY the IDQ in output- while the IDQ is a great sub if you are looking for fidelity and headroom at high volumes the RL-i is a better choice. Well I dont have a 10 but I do have 2 RL-i8s and they sound real nice and they have real good output. I have them in .4cu each sealed. I have a RL-p12 and love that sub.I liked the RL-p 12 just because of the output it had in the ported box it was in. All the people that have heard the RL-i 8s like them alot and they all say how clean they sound. I dont think you can go wrong with any soundsplinter subs.

What is the RMS on the RL-I 10" and how big should a sealed box for it be?

I was just looking at this and to me it looks like the RL-i drops way off at the low notes. I thought that sound quality subwoofer were supposd to have very leval slopes. My Kappa Perfect doesnt drop near as much when it reaches the lows. Two things, the graph is deceptive because of the range of freqs it covers. It makes the low end rolloff look steeper than it is. Second, once you factor in cabin gain, they should play flat to below 20Hz in a sealed box.

Ahh forgot abt cabin gain. Well what the hell does butterworth, quasi bessel, and enhanced q mean?

Go look for the RL-i 10 on that site it is in 1cu and it gets low.
