Ripped off by installer?

I watched and consulted with my installer guy on everything he did, save for the exact way he wanted to wire my amps which was probably my mistake. But I let him do the wiring the way HE wanted and it works, just maybe not as good as it could.
I know exactly how I'm gonna change the wiring when I decide to go full active with my DSP! Then I will have to learn how to configure my DSP myself.

Cry me a river. If it's ok for you to run your mouth in anyone's thread you want, because as you say "the mods aren't going to do anything", then it's obviously ok for everyone to do so. Or do you think you're special?

I paid these guys to do it due to time constraints with the amount of work I had on at the time this was put in; unfortunately it seems I probably should have done it myself as I'm going to have to tidy up all the ****** wiring myself now!

They're actually a chain of car audio stores here in the UK, so I've emailed their head office, but I hear they're terrible with aftersales. I don't think it's worth me going back to the store as apart from the one dude I spoke to initially, all the staff were very surly.

OP I would not be satisfied with that work, paying for a professional install it should look like one an the guy who did it should be ashamed. I would go back asking questions as to them fixing it.

Yep, as the old saying goes: If you want something done right then do it yourself! I was GONNA install all my own stuff but them I found my installer guy as I call him, and I have more money than time to learn AND do it all myself.

And yes there are a LOT of smarmy car audio installers out there BECAUSE there is NO GOVERNMENTAL REGULATIONS controlling them!

Last thing this world needs is more govenment regulations. The people can regulate themselves. Refusing to do business with, and spreading the word of shady companies is one example.
