Looking at the pictures again, I see every transistor has its own heat sink on the usually open air side.

I feel your pain... I bought a older zed 6 channel a couple years ago in perfect shape. When I started installing the amp I figured out there was no sub input. I still dont see why companys make some 5 channel amps with no sub input. I was really let down that day.
