Ridiculous prices

That's false. Buddy Jeff trunk car does wicked hair tricks 146-149db
I said hard to, not impossible.

Either way, I'm loud. 21's are getting shipped tomorrow or Friday. Will be going in about 20 cubes tuned to 25hz. Temporarily will be using the 20k

'smatter with buying used?

Because the crescendo 12k is $2,000 and he's prly paying a few hundred less that that for a used one. Why not buy brand new so you know what your getting. I buy used if I know the person personally and know how they treat their equipment but 98% of car audio people BEAT THE CRAP out of their equipment so I'd rather just buy new for acouple Hundo more.

Example my buddy just bought a used atomic 5k from some guy off Facebook. Came with cardboard as board surrport and missing shlt on the inside. So after paying to get it fixed he could have just bought a brand new atomic 5k for $1,000

A decent bit more than a couple hundred off.. won't say.

Building new wall? Or using old wall?? I still haven't seen pics of plexi on top your wall.

I'm sure all those amps use different components, but the base of the circuitry is a good design.
It's the same decade + old class D circuit that ALL the Far Eastern amps use and most of the "10K" versions are essentially the notoriously flammable Hifonics Sampson XXV board.... or that board with a few extra caps, toroids, or MOSFETs. These designs just aren't reliable much beyond 2KW..

You'd be well advised to use many smaller amps which are generally more reliable and far cheaper to fix when they blow up. If the price is right even keep a spare or two kicking around. I'd trust a pair of Atomic, Sundown, DC, AB, Nendo 5K's much farther than ANY 10K... I'd trust 4 2K or 2500's even more still.

Never metered, but it's hard to be less than a 150 and do hair tricks....
What did you meter again? I remember it was in the 150's
Ah yes. you never metered, but it's SOOOOO loud that you've already sold your subs and are shopping for new amps?

I'm typically 152.7-152.8 but was down 152.1 most of this summer with two amps out getting patched up and one sub pulled.

I'd always thought that one large amp would be better to run than many small ones...

Should I just get a bunch of Ampere 3800's? Someone is selling 6 of them on CACO

Correct. I'm never satisfied. I want to be as loud as possible. One week after each install I do, my body becomes used to it and I want more.

Can you pull a hair trick?

I just hope I don't need to send it in for repairs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
The "12k" and "10k" use the same boards as the Twisted Sounds 8.5k and Ampere TFE 8.0 and I'd bet they are made in the same build house by Zenon. Zenon boards are good in general.

I'm sure all those amps use different components, but the base of the circuitry is a good design.

The Ampere clamps the most from what I've seen and also costs the most. I'd say Ampere probably selected the highest quality components, where the other brands just went the cheapest route. Either way, I'd buy any of those amps for the right price

Again, the smaller amps are far more reliable and much cheaper to repair if and when they break.

Trust me, the first time you pay 100$ to ship out your "10K" amp and then get an 800$ repair bill you won't be so impressed. You'll less impressed if it burns up the board and it's only worth the scrap metal value of the heatsink. Ship out a 3K for 30-40$ postage and a 250$ repair ticket is a lot easier to swallow AND you still have tunes while you're waiting 2 months for turnaround. I've played the big amp game. Got lucky with Stetsom 7K didn't fare so well with others.

Call me old fashioned but if I wanted to blow hair around I'd ask you to get me your employee discount on a blow drier from K-Mart. I'll wager they're less than 40$ and it's not like I even have hair. I buy audio equipment to listen to music and compete occasionally just for the sake of supporting the hobby.
