Ricers... /rant

what is there to take? MAYBE they wont break 11's but they will do very, very low 12's on slicks, bone stock. you're saying im wrong? imports can be fast. domestics can be fast. stock neither are all that fast. my car ran high 14's when it was brand new. you're hard pressed to find an affordable unmodified car that will break into the 12's. the most affordable one that will is the DOMESTIC 06 corvette z06 which will run 11's stock. but im sure you'll tell me im full of crap there too. you can buy a 98-02 camaro or firebird with an ls1 for 10-12k, put an intake on it, and you've broken 12's if you can drive. im not sitting here trying to hate on imports, i respect well done imports, or any thing thats fast, no matter where its made. you're the one sitting here saying domestics aren't shit and any import>any domestic, which is complete bs.

alright first off, thats an oldsmobile. second, thats car and driver. third, thats a mid 70's v8 with its balls cut off, in a heavy *** boat of a car. that has nothing to do with the ratings on a zl1 copo camaro. try again.

im done with this post, you two are ignorant as hell and would still say i was full of shit after you watched a copo zl1 destroy ANY stock rice burner every produced.

maximum allowed horsepower for any japanese car - 280

Yes they do kill in power to weight ratio, as well as HP/$

Lets take a for instance

1966 Mustang vs. 2006 Honda Civic...Classic Muscle car vs mainstream ricer

Curb Weight: 1966 Mustang: 2860 lbs ( 289 cyl, 3 auto ***** [http://links.vintage-mustang.com/FAQ/specs.txt]; 2006 Honda Civic : 2751(LX w/ auto *****) [according to honda.com]

lighter car : Honda by slightly more than 100 lbs

However: Power available to market vs weight is the comparison:

Honda:

Honda Acura B18C1 Vtec High Performance Engine

HP/TQ: 275/190

from: http://www.high-performance-engines.com

Cost:12500

HP/Weight : .0999

$/HP: $45.45

Ford:

Roush Performance 342ci / 430hp ''342AL'' Engine

from: http://www.jegs.com

HP/TQ: 430/415

Cost: 9425.99

HP/Weight : .16

$/HP: $21.92

There could be some cheaper honda motors out there, but I find it very difficult to believe that they can be built of equal power and handling for the same cost. In power to weight ratio, I think it is much closer. They don't kill by any means. In the scenario the it was less, but I could see how in other scenarios the import may have an advantage, but it would be slight. If I am retarded as some have suggested, please post a link of a cheaper import motor that has greater horsepower.

As far as slolam, I'll concede that imports do have the edge. In drivability, they have an edge. Do I think I'll ever see a barret-jackson auction for the outrages prices of classics, I doubt it.

Why the **** would you swap a B18C into a 2006 Civic ? It would be cheaper to get the Si and turbo the **** out of the K20 ... and you'd make a hell of a lot more than 275 hp ...
Anyways, any car can be made fast ... Some cars take less $$$ to get to a certain point, but pretty much any car is capable of single-digits with enough money ...

the k20 in the civic si isn't so hot. the b18c though can be put upto 300whp stock... so its debateable. i can see where your coming from

i said zl1's run 13's stock, with old 60's tires. put modern drag slicks on them and they run 11's. ill find a link since you've got too much of an import boner to look for it. where did this "e-thug" crap come from? all i said was that my car has walked almost every ricer i've ever raced, and would likely destroy your car. and outslam it lmao //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gifwouldnt have said anything if you hadn't said that ricers own domestics.

So adding slicks takes 2 seconds off your 1/4.. ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Acura NSX off the top of my head.

Is this some kind of virtual reality video game module, you know like they have at the movie theatre and cost about $13 to play? That's a ricer defined in my book. Hey, I guess I'm a ricer, though mine is clean, subtle, and tight. A 2004 Honda Civic Si, lowered with 18's, and windows tinted to 20%. No wings, no body kit, no fart pipe, no attitude. Kick *** commuter car, a way better whip than my 1988 Civic Wagon (4dr!) dx with 268,000miles on it and ran perfect, just couldn't pass anyone not in a geo. Now I can and get 30mpg doing it. So if that makes me a ricer, then I guess I am, I just hate being grouped in with a bunch of high school hacks that like wings that look like lawnmower handles, and body kits that are never painted, halfway falling off, and always make the car look like a fish. Please don't label me a ricer, I may have to cry, I can't be grouped with the same tools that bring in their cars for me to work on day in and day out, and just don't understand why I regard them with such disdain......

In the past 48 hours I have driven from home, to work, the missus, home again, and then to work. I was tailed TWICE. By idiot Civic drivers. Am I wrong to stereotype? Sure. Am I wrong?

...ehhhh, I would say yes, but everything I have seen only further fuels my hatred towards those whom drive the car.
You see so many civics because they sell a couple HUNDRED THOUSAND of them every year and the majority stay running well past 200,00 miles. Odds are if you drive anywhere your going to see Hondas around, and odds are, the older cheaper ones are gonna find their way into the hads of ricer nation. Deal with it man, I have a co-worker with a pristine '72 Roadrunner that runs in the 10's. I can appreciate what it is, but I still think that car is an ugly-as-death tuna boat, albiet a ******* fast tuna boat. To each his own.

maybe a little something like my car? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
btw the ONLY street race i've ever lost was against an old 80's golf with a shitty paint job, guy said he did it himself. dude was running a twin turbo v6 blowing 20 psi, says that he put over 20k into the car and runs high 11's. wish i'd had the bottle with me that day, coulda took him if i didnt light the tires up too bad off the line. as it happened, he blew my doors off from 30 and 60 mph rolls. thing was pretty mean. he was also one of these cocky ricer assholes, which made it really crappy to lose to him. ran into him at the car wash, came in one of these "ricer convoys" they like to travel in.
In a golf they are called sausagers aren't they?or is it sourkrauters? I'm confused...

I've never bought an import before... not because they're ricers but heard repairs were expensive as hell on them... any truth to that?
depends on the repair and make/model. I work in the service department at a Honda dealer, it's not too bad for us. If you want specifics, pm me with a paticular job and I'll give you prices so you can judge what's expensive for yourself.
