RF XLC PUNCH 12's

Ok, pretty new to all of this, but my co-worker has a pair of these older RF's in a sealed box. Are they quality subs? It's either that or looking at buying 2 new Kicker 12" compvr's. What should I offer if I do take them? Any general insight or opinions on these is appreciated.

RF isnt bad, offer him like 20 and dont go higher than 40 probably. They are oldschool budget subs. you can also get better subs than the compvrs for the price.

He doesn't want that much for the xlc's, does he? Those kickers shouldn't be anywhere close to 3-400 for a pair.

$20ea for the XLC's, my buddy had four walled up in 01 lol...

CompVR's go at my local SHOP for like $75ea, new, with 1,000,000% markup.

for $400 you can do real nice things.

No.....the compvr's are $150 for the pair. I'm willing to pay around $300 for a pair of 12's......maybe a bit more. And no, he doesn't want much for the XLC's.....basically free as I'm selling him a gun.

The CVRs are a decent entry level sub. They get loud for what they are...however, if you have 300, you can find a nicer set of 12s pretty easily....and if you choose the XLCs, they are not bad. They are just low level fosgate, but depending on how many watts you have, perhaps they can be good for your application

just thought about this, you can likely get 2 Type Rs for 220$ or so, and they are better than the CVRs

Those weren't the entry level, those were the mid-grade. The Series 1 was the entry level. I've done amazing things with the XLC series. They do like a larger box though. 1.8-2.0cu.ft. sealed will make them shake things plenty. If you don't get them, get them for me because I'd give at least $70 for them.

dude 300-400 can get you a used... well almost anything.. I have a btl for less than 400 shipped I can give ya.. 18" though lol
