Rockford Fosgate PUNCH 800a2

This amp worked fine until recently when i hooked it up it seemed to be fine it turned on, but when i hooked up the speaker wire it started smoking, i yanked out the power wire as soon as i could. i dont know much about amps, but i know this amp was the best iv ever had and they are somewhat rare so I'm sure someone would like to rebuild it. I know that it was rebuilt about 2-3 years ago, what was replaced i don't know. comes with the amp, back cover and the side fins(not in pictures but included)there are a few missing screws.

there are a couple of broken prongs on the side board things(im a noob). i didn't notice them until i opened the amp back up.

you mean the mosfets? the things with 3 legs that are attached to the heat sink on the side of the boards? are any of them crispy?

i had exact problem with mine. it was a great amp, extremely powerful and unregulated so more juice in means more juice out. I know that those amps are pretty **** inefficient tho. those test at well over 1000rms, and thats alot for a very inefficent class a/b. Stock electrical typically cant support those amps...never did find out what was wrong with mine

heres those broken progs, its 5 of them, i tried to solder them but i'm terrible at it and it looks like hell. and heres another pic of that ground thing that i solder'd

Well i just looked at it for about 10 mins and found one more thing, a little tiny box is burnt up. its in a group of 4 boxes and it goes like this the top 2 are 1G and the bottom row witch one is burnt up and the one beside it has a 2G on it they are right below the 8 black circle things. heres a pic.

well if someone could tell me if its even repairable, that would be great. i inspected the hell out of that amp and those are the only things i could find.

sweet amps. i have a few of these (600a4, 500a2, 250a2). LOVE these amps.
