RF Amp fried?

Hello all,

I have a RF P3001 amp pushing 2 10" P1's for about 1.5 years now and I rip it out of my old truck because I sold it. Well I purchased a new truck and installed it and the Logo light turns on but so does the Thermal light. I had let it sit for ~2 weeks between installs in my garage (which got rather hot, but nothing intolerable). I am getting nothing to my p1's and I am sure I installed it properly. The Thermal light has not gone away. Any insight as to what happened? Is it fixable?

I put it in a box, in the garage, until I had time to install it in my truck. It was also in my house for a few days as well. I dont think it got wet or weathered as it was indoors and not around any source of water.

If the install is good, then I only can think of a couple of things.

1) Moisture - while it sat in your garage maybe it got wet or collected moisture inside it.

2) When you disconnected it or reconnected it in the new vehicle, did you do it with live power? Maybe something got shorted that way.

Have you tried powering it without any speakers connected. If not, try that and see what happens. If it works, then connect one speaker at a time. See what happens.

I would be glad to take a look at it for you.

I believe when I disconnected it, I disconnected from the amp first (power, then ground) then undid it at the battery and took out the power wire. When I connected it, I connected the amp first (ground then power), then at the battery. Could it be that my ground wire itsnt truely grounded? I have it connected to where the seat bolt. But that wouldnt explain the Thermal light. Also, I've tried one speaker at a time. Nothing.
