reverse mounting

Im gettin the system sorted out in my car and am probably going to get a 12 inch alpine type R sub. Im wanting to build my own enclosure in the corner of the trunk and have the sub pointing out at 45 degrees to the rear seats so its on abit of an angle. My trunks pretty small as it is so im wanting to make the enclosure as small as possible.

What type of enclosure would you recomend? sealed? can anyone give me any design tips?

Ive also seen in some cars the sub is reverse mounted, and the back of the type R looks pretty phat so i wouldnt mind doing this.

what difference does having it reverse mounted mean and what type of encloure would that need?

if it makes any difference my cars a hatch-back so its not got a trunk thats separate to the main bit of the car

thanks

rick

it will def. be louder in the corner like you have planned- you get the effects of corner loading and squeeze a few db's of cabin gain like that. That is how my sub is, and why I went with a 10 instead of a 12 (loud enough) not a big fan of the inverted look though I hated stuffing my iridium in a sealed box with all that beauty never to be seen again......
