Resurgance of GM?

one of my plants is the GM Lake Orion plant. They build the G6 and Malibu there. I was there on Monday and was lookin at the Malibu.. pretty nice looking car I must say. Also, they are one of the few plants left in Detroit that is still running good.... 3 shifts, and at least 6 days a week. My other plant (GM Hamtramck) builds Cadillacs and Buicks by this time next year, they will be building only the volt. Currently, they have 200 days inventory built, so the caddys and biucks arent selling as well as they like..

No.
Its another ill designed car that bases its styling from the windshield forward on their SUV's and trucks.

The grille is a shrunken clone of any recent Silverado.

I like cars, if I wanted to buy a truck I wouldnt be buying a car.
well I like it.

Something that doesnt have to follow the crowd and have a bulbous nose that is more truck than car?

I mean, its nothing new, every Chrysler made the last couple of years has styling based on their Ram trucks (look at the grille).

But Chrysler isnt one of the top selling brands, so GM should have looked at what Toyota and Honda are doing and copied them instead of following the Chrysler model.

Neither Toyota or Honda makes cars that try to look like trucks.

And their sales arent suffering much compared to the US carmakers who have designs that no longer look like cars.

Come again? The current Silverado has a very rectangular grill, while the new Malibu does not.

The only similarity would be the cross bar and the bow tie, which, oh yeah, it's a Chevrolet.

And LOL at people thinking drivers of $40-50K SUV's are honestly bothered about $4/gal gas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
