I just found this on craigslist, wondering if it's good enough to power 2 12w3's

he only has "A 640 WATT KENWOOD AMPLIFIER" in the description. I'm trying to get a hold of him to ask more questions

You can do an Arc Audio KS 500.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Do a little search on that, its an amazing amp.

Putting a $200 amp on $400 subs can be done, but A JL 500/1 would be a better choice. I know money doesnt grow on trees but its just some food for thought. I bought mine used on e-bay for $300 and its been flawless for 2 years, and should be for many more.

for $100 bucks and it comes with a sub and box its ok. can sell the box and sub and break even.
word but if it's not good I'd rather spend an extra 100 and get something good, if that's what it takes.

I'll see if I can find a 500/1If I can get one for around 200$ that'd be sweet. a couple ebay ones that I'm watching now.

thanks

I'm thinking 600 watts at 2 ohms.

still haven't had a chance to pull the subs out of the enclosure they came in to see if there 4 or 2 ohms wired down to 2 or 1.

wouldn't i need a little more than 400 97srad750?

although that is a nice looking amp

well, they come in a single coil 2,4, or 8. Chances are you have single 4 and they are wired to a 2 ohm load. You need to make certain, before you buy an amp. as it can vary greatly on the output.

Example my Kenwood x811 does 500 watts at 4 ohms, but 900 at 2 ohms.and 1000 at 1 ohm.

My MMats D200 does 200 at 4 ohms, yet 600 at 2 ohms.

So you will need to find that out.

*edit* now that I think about that I did know that it makes a difference, I just hadn't thought it all the way through

they're at my cousins, i'll pull them out as soon as I can and look

It's about right. They can handle more though.

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
