If you see RE's new packaging in person, it really isn't that great. Those new boxes (w/ the print on them) are paper thin--but they do also come in a corrugated box as well.

Better than nothing, right?

1.) You are right, Kicker is not bad stuff, I personaly like RE products better head to head with Kicker at teh same price points.
Also the fact that everytime I mention to Kicker headquaters all the product on ebay at dealer cost, they tell me they dont know were it is coming from. I believe this is BS because I can go to KNET.com and see the serial # for every Kicker sub or amp that has came trough my store. This causes me to be somewhat unhappy.

2.) Yes, the name sells it, but the packaging helps. Flashy colors and shiny materials grab attention.

3.) Yes, that is why RE is trying to get more product out. You have to sell it to people before they can bump it.

4.) We do deal with alot of people with 1/2 *** minds. Build quality means nothing to some people. I have had people come in with boss subs that weighed 40lbs, and they look at any sub that weighs less as being inferior. It is not hard for a company to dress up a sub with cast baskets and big magnets and 4000 watt stickers.

We have a vehicle with 1 18XXX and a vehicle with4 SX12s. They wow our customers, but you cant always do a demo.

Im not saying that this will double RE sales, I just think it is a Good idea. Definantly a step in the right direction if they want to become a bigger name.

We've been a dealer for over 3 years. The boxes help.

For a while we had RE woofers on the walls and stock in the stock room because the boxes made the showroom look like crap.

so does anyone knows dealers or what not if the xxx comes in one? i would doubt it due to it weight...i was told mine is still coming in the roud crate thing like always.

what RE sub is price point to kicker sub? aren't comp vr's around 150? and the highest kicker sub is the solo x which is price point of the xxx. now to most people, the solo x is a more proven spl sub than the xxx so they'd drop it on the solo vs. xxx often i'd imagine? i know i wanted my bud's shop to pick up RE but after he got their dealer cost pricing he knew there was no way in hell anyone would drop that $ on them based on sight seen. i know maybe 3 people who've ran RE in austin other than myself, we were/are all happy with the stuff but i'll never again buy RE. 650 cost on a XXX is insane i don't care how much custom tooling is done to it.

Even at the new dealer cost. The new XXX is unmatched for the price. imo of course.

We sell ours for about 1/2 of retail. If you call Re for a price they will qoute you Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price(MSRP). Dealers will usally work with you, If they dont it is usally because someone comes in with a "well I can get product X from ebay for x amount" which is usally dealer cost or less.. Most manufacturers dont sell direct. Sometimes you have to actually buy something Offline from a B&M.

i have 2 admit i do like there new boxes...but i dont buy subs based on how good looking the box is

No internet car audio fan does.

But 99% of the people walking into our store does.

Basically everything you said x2.
CompVR's are now the same price as the RE RE series and i'd put my money on the comp VR to have a slight edge in ouput on the mic.

an SE cost as much as an L7 and the L7 would walk all over the SE and output. SQ is another subject.

Hell for the price of a SE you can now get a w6v2 with some change left over...VERY compareable subs and JL is proven to the main stream.

I'd also put my money on the SoloX vs an XXX...not even bringing up the MX or MT because i'd bethe soloX would walk on both.

Before this sudden mainstream jump RE was a great value per perfomrance and where gaining popularity. Thank god they have the owner of USamps to help them along because i dont think they would have made it any other way.

I'd take the RE12 anyday.

SE Series: 12” - $345

Kicker L5 - $300

Kicker L7 - $400

No way I'd buy an L5 or L7 with the movement that it has over an SE, never going to happen. They don't sound very good, everyone knows that. Unless you're looking for a sub that only plays 50+hz very well.
