RE's encloure box measurements

sweetness, i just found on the RE website that they have measurements for their enclosures with an option for SQ and SPL. This is great, but first things first, can these measurements be used on other speakers?

yes they can.........may not sound as good though.....every speaker is a little bit different.

if you call them, they will tell you everything you need to know, for exaclty what your doing... with your speaker and the power your sending it, cause the power you got is a big factor on what you do with the box.

people say the box plans for the 12inch subs are wrong.

they are wrong. very wrong. dont design your subs to the RE specs on the site. give them a call, tell them your situation (amp\car\needs\subs) and they will basically design an enclosure for you.

or you can PM Jmac and say "hey, can you design a box for me to fit in my car? i have this amp, this sub, and these are the dimensions of my trunk. i want the box to sound great and get loud, ill pay you $10 paypal. thanks!"

and he will give you everything you need to know to build the box.

Whoa bad move. There dimmensions are completely off on the 30hz tuned ported box. Who knows what there box is tuned to maybe 189hz. It's all screwed.

I have dimmensions for a 2.17ft^3 ported box tuned to 29hz for a 12" XXX.

Any one want them?

Box - 36" x 15" x 13.5" = 3.23ft^3

Port - 12" x 2.5" x 38

2.17ft^3 after all displacements and tuned to 29hz.

If you would like the indivisual cut out dimmensions just ask.

34.5" x 13.5" - 4 of these.

13.5" x 15" - 2 of these.

11" x 12" - First piece of the port.

23" x 12" Second piece.

Ok the side pieces of 13.5 x 15 go on last. For the port connect the 11" piece then put the 23" piece on the side of it for the bend. The front board gets a 2.5" x 12" piece cut off to have an opening for the port. Make sure the port remains 2.5 all the way down.

There is about 24 different ways to cut it out and asseble it, This is just the way I did it.

so RE's site for "any" of the subs are wrong? Or just a certain model. I built my box by the specs on RE's site. I have 12" Re SE in a 1 foot cubic sealed enclosure. I think it sounds pretty loud, but then again my sub is about 5 inches away from me. lol
