Hey guys, I've never built a ported box, and I figured it would be easier, and sound better, if someone designed the plan for me.

What I'm going to be working with are 4 AA Assassin 10" woofers. Full t/s specs can be seen here:

http://ascendantaudio.com/assassin10specs.html

It says each one should be in 1.2cube. I'd like the tuning to be low, because this is a daily driver. Probably the recommended 32hz.

Vehicle: Jeep Cherokee (Space isnt really an issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

Dimensions I have to work with are as follows: 42" wide, 24" deep, and 20" tall.

Double top baffle. Subs on top, port on top. Probably put the port in the center, somethin like this:

O || O

O || O

Thanks,

Matt F

takes along time but basically

the box is....

Subs firing up port firing back at the hatch.

external measurements are 24.75" wide by 24.75" deep by 1' and 2/16th" tall.

Port is 21" long and 4" wide and the port wall is 20.25" long

Try this thumbnail

ooops...

internal measurements should be 25" wide x 24" deep x 18" tall after port displacement = 6.25ft^3 internal after port displacement.

External measurements should be 26.5" x 25.5" x 23.5"

can you work with an extra 3.5" in height?

Wide short ports FTL. I might be able to draw soemthing up for ya, but what kind of area do we have to work with in here?
Looking at 42" wide, 24" deep, and 20" tall. 20" tall is just to the top of my rear seat. I would like to keep it under 20" tall because it'll start to interfere with my rear-view mirror. The footprint of 42x24 should be plenty to work with to keep it under 20" tall i should imagine...

yeah.....you're going to end up with a way bigger box then you need if you use the 42" x 24" and you're going to need the port on the front wall at the bottom seeing as the size of the box and the subs you'll be using...

A 10" sub actually measures 10"-11" across from outside of one side to outside of other side so 4 10"s will need to take up a legth of anywhere from 40" to 44"

Try the box I designed...I guarantee you won't be dissapointed.

Make a few mods to it to make it 3.5" shorter so it doesn't come above the back seats...

But,it won't be that big a difference...3.5" over the backseat compared to someones head blocking the rearview mirror.

Since im kinda in the same area i figure i wont need to make a new thread. Im getting 4 8" assassins. Can someone modify one of the boxes to fit 4 8"s? Was looking for around 2.4ft^3 and 35 Hz.
