The house is voting on extending the tax cuts for 98% of Americans. 217 democrats have voted yes while 165 republicans have voted no. For those who have voted for republicans, why do you vote for them?

Here are the republicans showing their true colors. They care about the top 2% of people more than the bottom 98%. This is proven.

The Bush Tax cuts gave cuts for everyone. The democrats admitted this by saying they would renew ONLY tax cuts for people making 250,000 or less. The Republicans are voting that down, in favor of just renewing the tax cuts on the books. Spin it any way you want, but what I just said is the verifiable truth.

The bill has officially passed, with a grand total of three republicans voting to extend the bush tax cuts for 98% of Americans.

Republicans care NOTHING about the average person.

They're sacrificing the tax cuts of 98% of people for the richest 2% of people. This isn't spin, this is reality. There is no other way to characterize it. They would rather see EVERYONE get their taxes increased than see only their millionaire buddies see their taxes increased. How can anyone justify this?

If they want the top 2% to get their cuts extended that is fine, but voting against 98% of American's tax cuts is beyond deplorable. How can anyone deny this.

Lol!! Hilarious when you take into account that these are the BUSH TAX CUTS... that the democrats were going to let expire and the only reason it's even up for debate is that the Republicans won the House. You are hilarious... the problem is that everyone knows what I'm saying is true including you... so who are you hoping to fool?

The bill on the books should be renewed which gives tax cuts to "98%" of Americans, plus their employers. That is what they want renewed. The real questions is why would the democrats play this political game and risk no tax cuts, when renewing the old ones is so common sensical and easy? Clearly you're trying to spin this. Unfortunately you just can't. Your argument is too nonsensical.

What? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif The democrats wanted to expending the cuts for 98% of Americans since ever. It was only extending the richest 2%'s cuts they were against. Get your facts straight dude.

Dear Mr. Obama,

What goes around comes around. Now bend over bitch.

The democrats are risking the tax cuts, the republicans are STOPPING the tax cuts.

And spending $700 billion on extending tax cuts for those who don't need them at all is "common sensical" and easy?

Let me help you out. Since now passed, if you make $250,000 or more, your tax cuts are gone.

To further help you understand the domino effect, guess who owns small businesses and what tax bracket they fall in? Guess who employs the most in this country? So now, you just took away money from an already struggling sector. Guess what now, look for more job cuts. Obamacare? More lost jobs. THANKS DEMOCRATS. And now the counter-clockwise rotation starts towards the septic tank.

House Dems want Bush tax cuts to expire, but say it's tough sell - TheHill.com

Lol these are the Bush tax cuts we're talking about. You lied in your f Republicans thread and said they were only for the rich. Now you're saying something totally different. The democrats wanted them to expire until the Republicans won the house. There are mountains of evidence to prove you wrong. Are you REALLY sure you want to do this pal?

No, the Republicans are not stopping anything. They don't want what the democrats are proposing and are going to go the route of renewing the ones on the books. Your attempt at framing this as the only hope for any tax cuts is bogus. This is merely a bump in the road on the way to the tax cuts the Republicans want and American needs to be kept in place.

No, the Republicans are not stopping anything.
They just voted no in unison against extending the tax cuts for 98% of Americans. That is stopping something. You can't define it any other way. If I say no to something, I'm stopping it. Period.

They don't want what the democrats are proposing
I know they don't. They care about about the richest 2% of people They're more worried about the person making $500k a year seeing a tax increase than the person making $40k a year and seeing a tax increase. The vote today proves this. It is objective fact.

the tax cuts the Republicans want and American needs to be kept in place.
If America needs these tax cuts, prove that the slashing of the top tax rates has had a positive result for everyone in this country. (ie, not just the top 2%)

The democrats never wanted the cuts for the bottom 98% of people, those who make under $250k, to expire. Period. Have they always wanted them to expire for the richest 2% of people, people making more than $250k a year to expire? Absolutely, and for good reason. Try to prove me wrong. Go for it.

You have NO clue what just happen. The democrats propsed a bill extending tax cuts if you make less than $250,000 a year. They pushed that through. Republicans voted no, because it does not help your job producers AKA: small businesses. You need to understand what you are posting, before you post.

So in other words, it's the democrats' way or the highway? Nope. They only get a yea or nay vote. They vote nay, and then reinstate the current Bush tax cuts on the books. That is not saying no to tax cuts. That's saying a resounding yes! Lol you fail... hard.

The riches 2% are the ones who pay the rest of the economy's wages. To care about any of the rest of us, you have to care about them. You hurt them and you hurt us. It's been proven time and time again. You cannot care about the leaves but hate the tree. The vote today proves that democrats will do anything to win the next re-election and do no care about the American people because they are willing to let them lose their tax cuts in order to cheap shot the Republicans.

How does people keeping more of what they earned not increase spending? LOL! You fail.

No need. I already did.

WHAT IS THIS GOOD REASON????? Are you insane? You are not understand who the job producers are in this country. Do you even work? If so, don't cry when you get laid off Mr. 2%.

It is useless. He does not understand politics, economics, or hell anything for that matter.

Yeah, so they can pass new laws w/ tax cuts, since the left wing nut jobs screwed w/ the bill in place.

You didn't have a problem w/ democrats forcing laws the past 2 years, but now you're bitching about the republicans returning the favor. Just like Obama, who just kept forcing bills through, ignoring republicans. Kinda funny how he's willing to work w/ them now & have ''partisan'' between the two parties. Sorry potus, ain't happenin. Now bend over & take it like a man.
