*Replacing the pioneer 8600 and 9600*

Has anyone heard when pioneer will be dropping the new 8700 or 9700, to replace the 8600 and 9700? And headunit features,pics, etc. I love my deh-p860 , but what to know if a new version will be coming soon, So i can get it.

Well, obviously not til next year (06). I have a friend that installs for a Premier dealer, I'll have to see if he can get anything out of the Pioneer rep next time he stops by.

they probly wont be, because there really isnt much to change other than appearance mostly (all the changed on the 770)

i email pioneer awhile back with the same inquiry. they said the same thing as adam71 said, no new 8700/9700 this yr. so i went ahead and bought the 8600. but that was in january when i emailed them, things could change.

Nothing what so ever. And when I said "not til 06" I was merely guessing that next year would feature some new decks simply because the 860 and 960 have been in the line up for 2 years now. I would think Pioneer would come out with a new 8 and 9 unit this year.

Hopefully they will change more than just appearance. Like for instance it would be nice to see Pioneer decks with "defeatable" internal amps. Especially since most other mfgs are incorporating this feature.

Funny you should mention email. I have never had Pioneer return an email to me. I'm not sure why either. They could atleast return a generic one to me or something but NOTHING.

2). Fix the poor internal board grounds

3). selectable button color illumination
