Replacing my Kicker L3

I am looking to replace my Kicker L3 2 Ohm DVC with something a bit more powerful. I Really like a lot more bass, family thinks iv lost my mind cause the kicker is to much as it is. I am looking for something that is really ground shaking for under 300 dollars. Could anyone tell me quality brands? I have been looking at multiple sizes but I think cone area does make a difference so I was looking at 15s. But as the reviews iv seen on the Sundown SA-8s v2 they also make a big difference in power.

^Not exactly true. SAs, XFLs etc get plenty loud. And unless he was running a huge amp on an l3, i doubt he has a ton of power
well I mean any brands you could throw out would work. Id do with an 8 even or an 18. space is of no problem. DC Audio is also becoming an option to me.

How much space do you have to work with? Does it have to be new? If you want to get a loud sub
If he heard a properly powered and installed sub that was over $300, he would probably **** himself right now.

I bet if he put it in the right box he would be happy and save some money to do a real upgrade later on.
Until the glue on the surround fails and the L3 falls apart and then he's out the cost of the box... lol

Well iv heard bad things about some kicker products. I Looked at the kicker l3 and didn't think very bad of it. I guess it wouldn't be smart to learn off of a community possibly. but I am just trying to get into it. Its something id like to try to create a future in. as car audio is the only thing that has ever interested me. Point me in the right direction lol

Start small and get bigger. What amp are you currently using?

Also, stick around here (and other car audio related forums) and read around for a few weeks. You'll learn a lot about getting the most out of your system, from quality to loudness.

Kicker makes a few ok products even tho the forum community hates them, the L3 just isnt really one of them. The SX amps were the ****, L7s can easily get loud, and their SOLO X motor is one of strongest made...but the L3 can be easily upgraded

L7 can get loud but they aren't exactly the most durable. The solo x18 motor is an absolute beast though -- at one point (not sure if it still is) it had the most motor force of anything in existance. If I had the money I'd love to make a pair of custom 12s or 15s with solo x18 motors.

Some Kicker stuff is pretty good. Almost none is worth MSRP, in just about any category better can be had.

I believe the Solo X is still one of the strongest out
It would have to be considering the mass of the softparts and the air load that cone is trying to push around. There's a guy locally that has a single one in a wall that does pretty good, but my suspicion is that he could drop any high end round 18 in there and gain. I have owned a few and besides the wow factor wasn't impressed. Not terribly practical and virtually nobody who uses them puts those square subs in enough airspace.
