replacing fi q 18

So I'm trading in my mountaineer for a Volvo s80 2006. I'm going to have way less space to work with. I'm looking forssuggestions on a good replacement setup. I'm going to run whatever I get off of a brz1200 at 1ohm. I am very interested in a couple sa 8s, I'm just worried they won't be as loud as the 18. I'm looking for suggestions on what subs to get. Also I need to sell a 2013 fi q 18 fully loaded

Oh and budget is roughly 400 for the sub/ subs, mostly looking for suggestions cuz the trunk isnt huge.

Question. Could you recone the FI to a smaller size ? I did that with DD years ago.

Pretty much nothing off the same power level is going to be as loud as your 18.

You need to figure out how much room you have for an enclosure and go from there. Reconing the Q to a 12" might be an option. Plenty of tutorials on how to recone a sub, it's not that hard...

We'll I mean FI could do it for him if he feels uncomfortable in doing so. That's also what I would look into. Total air space you have. Go from there.

I could get a new amp like an aq 2200. I can't afford a ho alt but I could a battery and 0g. I figure I could fit two twleves, maybe up to four 8s. I want to avoid trunk rattle would 8s be good for that? Im gonna dampen it of course.

forward fire/seal it off = little to no trunk rattle...or deaden your trunk

Sell the Q and get a few 12's then. Soundqubed has the HDS200 & 300 series for pretty cheap, or look for used stuff.
