Replacement for Alpine 9813

Currently have an Alpine 9813 and I love it. However its on the way out and I need a new HU. I have wheel controls I would like to hook back up, as well as run my IPOD. Have an external amp so do not care about internal amp.

Should I go with the 9887 or the 9861? I had thought about getting an LCD screen for the car, which would obviously make the 9861 the only choice, but am not 100% sure I want to do that. What advantages does the 9887 have over the 9861 or vice versa?

9861 is a dvd player, has optical out and is a great sound quality deck, also i think it has full speed ipod control which is one of the best ipod controls on the market hands down and i bleieve it can control the h701 processor which is a big plus

The 9887 basically give you almost the same, except no control over the h701 no dvd audio or dvd video playback or optical out.

However you get imprint processing if you chose to buy the extra kit

I say go for the 9861 if you are looking for a good sq deck and are familiar with tuning. The 9887 will do almost all the tuning for you via imprint so its great for an experienced user
