Removing Vinyl

A friend of mine has a ford ranger with some type of vinyl waves down the side, needless to say, he wants them removed. I have removed some smaller vinyl stripes before but nothing this size. How do you recomend that I remove it? Heat gun? Acetone? Scraper? all of the above? Thanks in advance...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

If it's good vinyl, it will come off easily w/ a heat gun. If it was cheap vinyl, you will need to use a heat gun and some type of non scratching plastic scraper. Do not use acetone, it will most likely harm the paint. You can also get a product called Rapid Tac Remover from most any sign supply company.

There are rubberized eraser wheels available that you can use on your drill / powerdriver that'll peel back stubborn graphics.

Acetone is not a good idea.

There are also plastic razorblades that'll do the trick after you heat it up, and even a modified soldering-iron with a blade attachment that works pretty well with a steady hand. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
