all i know is its swirls in the paint but dont actually know how.

Its called marblizing I believe. I think you can use plastic wrap to get that effect.

bowling ball paint jobs are realy hard and time consumeing and if not done right can look awful.

it looks alright, but i'd rather just spend a few grand and get a nice paintjob

there's so many cars rolling around with **** paintjobs, that just having a NICE factory fresh looking paintjob is good enough for me

paint's so easily damaged.

not to mention if you ever get in a wreck, your insurance company's never going to cover a $1k+ paintjob for a single panel, you're gonna have to pay for it yourself again

Actually, bowling ball/marble is not airbrush. Usually how it is done (coming from working at a paint shop) is you spray your base coats and while they are still tacky/wet you take a large sheet of masking plastic and stick it to the entire surface you want the effect on, you then peel it off and let the base dry.
