I removed the bottom panel of my PPI PC1400 amp and when I hooked it up it came on for a few seconds with green and red light blinking then it never came back on. I took off the bottom panel to do plexiglass over it. Is there any problem with me taking the bottom panel off? Anyone done this before?

The bottom panel is what clamps the FET devices to the heatsink. If you removed it there is no way for heat to transfer and cool them. Very good chance you can burn one or more of them up.

The PPI PowerClass amps that had plexi from the factory used solid aluminum bar stock to clamp the FETs down which your amp does not have.

If it happened that fast it seems like the amp had problems to begin with. Or your install was garbage.
