got bu/\/\p?
ok, so i sent my goliath to autotek and he told me that it wouldnt even be worth repairing because of the folowing reasons:
"
The amp was received in this morning. The unit has suffered severe damage. The power supply is completely blown (all 20 FET's are bad). The output has also been significantly damaged.
I haven't even completed the evaluation, but so far there is over 200.00 just in parts bad. With the damage as severe as it is, I wouldn't recommend repairing it.
This unit is very similar to the IA40.1 or the Zenon amps. They all use the same FET's. These FET's are very expensive. The power supply FET's are almost 7.00 each. The output FET's are 12.00 each. There are 20 PS FET's and 24 output FET's. So, you can see where the cost comes from.
However, even if the price wasn't this high, I still wouldn't recommend repairing the unit. Normally, with damage like this even if the unit was repaired it wouldn't be reliable. We have built a reputation on restoring the amps to their factory condition. This is not possible in this case.
You do not owe me anything for the evaluation. I could also send you some pics to show the damage. The only cost that you would owe is the return shipping. If you decided not to take the amp back, I can dispose of it for you and you wouldn't owe anything.
Please let me know how to proceed."
do you guys think i could get anything for this if i tried to sell it? should i even bother paying return shipping/>? or should i just scrap it?
thanks
