right now im replacing my friends speakers in a dodge dakota and i got the front speakers fine but to remove the back panel it looks like i have to take off the seat belt and we cant figure out how to do it. we tried just unscrewing the big screw but that didnt seem to work.

so how do i do it?

Thanks a lot.

I have done this many, many times because I also have a Dakota. If you havent already gotten it, just take off the screw with a big allen wrench, and put the seat beat off the the side for a minute. Then take off the side panel (just pull carefully) and if you want it off all the way, you can then take off the bottom anchor of the seat belt, or just leave it the way it is and do your work. Then just put it all back when you are done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Pearl Drummer,

First off you need "The Proper Torx Bit" either in 3/8" or 1/2" drive.Get a "Breaker Bar" in either drive also.Get some WD~40 or comparable and spray around the torx bolt head and let it seep under it to the threads.Give it some time,as it could be a little rusty(If the bolt threads are exposed to elements under the floor pan...Some are not exposed). If they are exposed,go under the truck and spray the threads up also, and let it set up.

Once you "crack loose" the bolts enough.you can use a 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet.Do not use **Vise Grips** !!!You'll bust your AZZ,and will not accomplish Shitzz, but getting annoyed.seriously.Be patient.....and you'll get the Torx bolt out.

Hope this helps.
