I have an Alpine CDA-9811 that I'm going to install in the glove compartment of my boat. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to operate the stereo without having to open the glove compartment door. The compartment is across the seating from the drivers seat and I want to operate the unit from there. Any ideas - I would prefer not to have to buy another head unit.

I do have the original remote but it obviously doesn't do the job.
