Remote wire

So I'm putting a system in my friends car who has a stock stereo. I know about the drop line but what do i wire the remote to? I'm just a little confused with this one, help is appreciated.

Wire it to the ignition switch. Gotta pick a wire that is only hot when the vehicle is on though.

It's a mazda 3 hatchback '06... so would it be best to put it on the power wire in the back of the stereo.

Even on stock stereos, there are two power lines. One hot constant for memory (station presets for example), and one for power (so that when you turn off the ignition, the radio goes off.

What are you calling the "drop line?"

Yeah I just realized thats not what its called.... stupid..... Its the wire thing that you take to the speakers, any speaker, and it changes it to rca's for the subwoofers.

ah LOC Line Out Converter....also yes the radio should have a non-constant power, you can also use the ignition or windshield wipers.

you could always get a little better LOC that has a built in remote out
