remote wire?

ok.i was in the middle of installing my subs and amp , but the amp wont turn on. i've got a good ground and power connection, but the amp still won't power up. there is somthing about a remote wire going from the h/u to the amp in the manual. i have no idea what this wire is or what it does . i know it goes in the remote output and connects to the remote input on the amp, but i dont know where the remote output is on my h/u (in sig). do i need this wire? is this why my amp wont power up? any help would be appreciated,

it what tells your amp to turn on, so yes you need it, you could just tap the HU side with your cig. lighter

blue/white wire in back of your deck. if you dont have one, tap into the red ignition wire.

You should have a remote wire coming out of the other side of your adapter you plug into your stock wiring harness.. I can't remember the color off hand but I think it is eitther blue or blue/white.

Run that from your adapter to your amps remote and it will turn on when the radio comes on.

I do not know if your specific headunit includes one or two blue wires in the harness that plugs into the back.

If there are two one will be solid blue and the other will be blue with a white stripe.

The one with the stripe is going to be the one you want to attach to the remote activation input for the amp.

If your Pioneer doesn't include both wires then there will only be the one blue wire coming out of that harness.

Wtf are you talking about? And whatever it is please let's try and educate those who come seeking information. Let's guide them towards the proper way of doing things the first time and resort to ghetto workarounds only as final options when necessary, okay?

thanks i figured it had somthing to do with turining the amp on... i remember seeing a blue/white wire on the back, so i will finish up tomorrow... so close to bass now i can almost feel it.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

installed now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif pics later in the week. got another question though.... i had my system up about halfway for 10 mins this afternoon when i smelled something burning. smelled like the vc's to me, but i'm not an expert. i know most of you don't believe in the "break in" period, but should i keep it down a litte for a week or two?
