that's the power antenna. the remote wire should be the blue/white one. i think this one has a higher voltage as well.

can you find the blue/white wire? run that wire straight to the amp.

well my amp wiring kit came with a remote wire connected to the RCA cable so i have that hooked up to the amp and run up to the back of my deck.

so cut off the plastic surround on the wire twist it onto the deck remote wire and tape it or use a wire cap

negative, one of the worst ways you could ever connect something, i suggest using a 14-16 guage butt connector it will be a blue connector and insert the side of the wire that goes to the amp in the connector and crimp it and then do the same thing for the wire that comes out of your HU. it is connected with alot less resistance then tape or wire nuts.

not saying that butt connectors are bad but is there a gain to less resistance in remote wire?
