when connecting the remote wire from the amp to the HU, would I "tap" into the blue/white wire or would i cut the blue/white wire coming from the HU and connect it directly and only to the amp remote wire? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ponder.gif.ec2527b23f1d287b60dcbba54f95edba.gif

yeah yeah yeah, its a noob question. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thanks!!

You take the blue/white wire from the back of the headunit and connect that to the wire running into the amp. Hope that clarifies.
unless you have a power antenna, then you would connect the blue/white wire to the power antenna and then you would use a quick splice connector and tape your remote wire into the blue/white wire.

Do you have a blue wire with no tracer coming out of the HU ? If so, connect it to this wire.

Do you have a power antenna? If you do, splice it in. If you don't, connect it to the blue/white wire.

I dont think it has a power antenna. when i had it installed (before i found this forum and realized i could possibly do it myself with everyones help), all i had to get was a HU wiring kit and an antenna adapter.

the installer at BB spliced all the HU wires with with the HU adapter wires i had to buy. i see the blue/white wire coming from the HU but it is spliced with a blue wire. should i tap into that or cut it and splice the remote power directly and only to the blue/white wire?

i left out that it is a cheapy pioneer deh-3800mp that is in an 06 chevy silverado work truck. all the truck came with was a stock radio.

thanks again and i hope this clears some things up.

Thanks for the info everyone ... I just ran the remote wire to the blue/white wire directly. Worked out great! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
